Welcome![edit]

Hello, Pietro Tessarin, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome!

Sorry about a rough start. You will have to first learn a bit about editing Wikipedia before you contributions can actually help. Sorry about adding to the above:

  • Try to put not too much in one edit.
  • Every fact should be accompanied by an independent source, best as an inline citation.
  • Respect - don't overwrite - inline citations from other users.
  • When you are reverted - as you were - DON'T re-add the same thing - called edit-war - but go to the talk page and discuss your proposed change and try to find CONSENSUS for it. - Forgive the all-capitals, called "shouting", but this is really to be be observed if nothing else is.

I am sure we can profit from your knowledge but please be ready to learn how. - Happy editing! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:58, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help me! La Fenice Opera House in Venice page[edit]

Ciao Gerda! thank you for everything first of thing. La Fenice page on wiki need changes. Its history is not complete as the wiki Italian page. On La Fenice website we put this on-line http://www.teatrolafenice.it/site/index.php?pag=73&lingua=eng that's a verified and complete story abour that we uploaded when La Fenice was reopen on 2003 after the fire. Please, help me to 'restaured'this page too besides I have got lot of pcs without copy that I'd like to put inside. I'm one of La Fenice Opera House press officer. best regards, Pietro

Thank you, Pietro! I am sorry that I so far never managed to by IN the house, only admired it from outside. - Minor thing: somehow you managed to lose the signature (which is four tildes) in the template. Also, I don't need a help template (so removed it), I'm watching anyway ;)
Now to the big task: you need to format the book that you quote as a reference, best in the style that is already used in that article. Can you look if you find there <ref> or {{sfn? Perhaps copy one of the references to here, and we work on yours? I prefer sfn (Harvard citation), btw. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:36, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the book https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fenice-1792-1996-Theatre-Music-History/dp/B009914V2O/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1520248097&sr=8-1&keywords=anna+laura+bellina+michele+girardi sorry for amazon link but it was easier for my to find it
This can be listed as
  • Bellina, Annalaura; Girardi, Michele (2005). La Fenice 1792-1996: Theatre, Music and History. Marsilio. ISBN 978-8-83-178359-0.
and I'll do it for you. When you add a fact, put behind the full stop {{sfn|Bellina|Girardi|2005|p=5}} or {{sfn|Bellina|Girardi|2005|pp=5–7}} if more than one page, - of course substituting the actual numbers. To make it work you need to add | ref = harv before the final brackets of the book definition. Please try for one fact only, and be careful not to remove sources that are there at present, and reword everything. I probably said it already: copying from the source is not allowed. You probably don't want to give details, just mention the bigger events, - the official web is there all the time for people wanting detail. Good luck! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:56, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much Gerda and Sorry from now for my mistakes..
We all were beginners once. My first article was deleted within minutes. Mistakes are normal, no problem, - I failed to sign my last post (not here). - We have Project Opera, btw, where you reach more users. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:11, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I made a few formal corrections. The other book you cite is not yet in the article, or am I blind? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:44, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ciao Gerda, we have used here http://www.teatrolafenice.it/site/index.php?pag=73&blocco=170&lingua=eng double book. Bellina/Girardi and another book Manlio Brusatin, Giuseppe Pavanello, La Fenice Theater, Albrizzi editore, 1986, Marsilio
We can format "another" like this:
  • Brusatin, Manlio; Pavanello, Giuseppe (1986). Albrizzi (ed.). La Fenice Theater. Marsilio.
Please check in the article. What's the isbn no.? - Please sign your edits on talk pages - 4 tildes ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:44, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's 1986 here, but 1987 in the article, please check. Are you sure about the title? Is it in Italian? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:48, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao Gerda, ISBN 88-3176509-4 it's in Italian.. so

  • Brusatin, Manlio; Pavanello, Giuseppe (1986). Albrizzi (ed.). Il teatro La Fenice. Marsilio. ISBN 8831765094.

first edition was in 1986, second 1987 I'm using first edition another book Gerda for 1996-2003 AA.VV, I progetti per la ricostruzione del Teatro La Fenice, Published on the occasion of the Exhibition held in Venice in 2000 Venice, Marsilio, 2000 ISBN 88-317-7605-3

Ciao Gerda, I have just finished to upload all that we was written about La Fenice History. I wouldn't and can't remove your chapters, wich are Introduction of the Opera House and 'Second theatre' because of your refs. I hope it'll everything ok and you can edit better than I did the page besides I should send you 4-5 pic from 1792, 1837, 1854 and present Theater (Sale Apollinee) Copy free for Wiki.

You will have to fix to 1996 then - they all said 1997. You will be able to write the third book, with the example given. - Please solve the copyright question, that's serious! - I said "don't copy" above, no? - Not sure what you mean by "your chapters", - I didn't do much to the article, just watch it. I just started an Italian conductor who worked at the house, - do have references for that? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:54, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao Gerda, thank you so much for everything. Yes for the first I'm solving the copyright question. I've got all ref for all paragraphs that are excerpts not only from the books but also from conferences during tha days of the reopening. For Antonello I've got a biography that I should send you with an e-mail.

Copyright: - you can't use the very same wording as in you sources, did you understand. My approach would be to summarize each section to a few lines, referenced by the long passage in the book. Please add the citation after each paragraph, not only at the end of a section. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:41, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

'you can't use the very same wording as in you sources' = Yes, I know.. the words are not the same indeed but are a result of a paraphrases from 2 books and a conferences about La Fenice reopening in 2003. Anyway, after each paragraph I have just written all references as you wrote me. I'm waiting for a Marsilio's document to use all part for wikipedia. I'll send it to all friends in this 'talk'

Ciao Dianna, thank you for everything! I'm solving - I hope - all copy questions. All paragraphs that I had copy and paste yesterday on La Fenice wiki page are from not only 2 books but also from a conference/celebration during La Fenice reopening days in 2003. Anyway, I have just finished to write paragraph by paragraph the references. I'm waiting for an official documents by Marsilio that I'll send you here.

Ciao Dianna, I will finally send you tomorrow the waver of Marsilio for La Fenice page. Thank you once again for everything. Pietro

Dear Dianna, finally the link with the permission and Signature between Marsilio & La Fenice https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oGCGl30d3icSUpClDfcRPV1uk4dnrOZS/view?usp=sharing

Hello, Pietro. I'm very sorry, but the release that you have is not something that we are able to use on Wikipedia. All of our content is licensed for modification and reuse, even commercially. There is an example of a release form that is usable on our sites at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. If you have any questions about this, you may get a quick response from WP:Teahouse or by writing to info@wikipedia.org. I'm very grateful to you for your interest in securing more content on this subject for Wikipedia and regret that we do need to restore older material until a usable license is supplied. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:57, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Dianna, I'am so verry sorry for that. Anyway, I'm going to write an History of La Fenice Opera House more specific and satisfying that we can read on La Fenice wiki page English. Hope it will be good. But, just a question, why did you cancelled the 'premieres'? I have copied and pasted that from La Fenice wiki page Italian https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Teatro_La_Fenice#Prime_assolute. Is this not possible?
