Vanniyar

Hi Premthanjavur. I saw that you changed the "answered" tag to "no", but perhaps you misunderstand what that means. As soon as another editor responds to the request, that tag is changed to "yes". You're welcome to make further comment, but please don't change that tag back. Making a request doesn't mean your request automatically gets made, just that other editors should respond to it. It's just like if someone edited the article directly, and then was reverted; making a change or suggestion on Wikipedia isn't a guarantee of that change going/remaining in the article. Lists of people

WP:NLIST very explicitly and clearly says that we may never list living people in an sort of list (stand-alone or in an article) unless we have sources that 1) demonstrate the person's importance (specifically, that they be important enough to mention in the article in prose) and 2) explicitly state that the person meets the category. Furthermore, for lists related to religion, sexual orientation, and caste, the person must have explicitly self-identified as being in that caste (etc.). Please do not revert the List of Vanniyar to a stand-alone list unless you can provide references that verify all of the above. Qwyrxian (talk) 10:25, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Your behaviour at Vanniyar is becoming WP:Edit warring

Prem, you cannot repeatedly remove a paragraph against the consensus of the Talk page. This is known as "Edit warring" and can get your account blocked. If you are sure the paragraph is not correct or is misleading, then you need to gain consensus for its removal on the Talk page. You cannot use brute repetition, removing it and removing it over and over again (especially when multiple distinct editors are restoring it). Poor contributions

Please can you take a bit more care with your contributions to articles such as Vanniyar and Palli. I know that you have a particular interest in a small group of related communities but you have been reinstating poorly sourced, poorly written material. Some of it has included copyright violations, some of it misrepresents the source and some even is not supported at all by the source that you provide. Vanniyar and Palli

Please stop pushing your opinion that the ancient term vanniyar (meaning warrior) is synonymous with the modern usage for the Vanniyar/Palli caste. That is merely an origin myth propagated by vain members of that caste since the 19th century and, despite assertions that were once in various articles, Noboru Karashima has been explicit in saying that the two are unconnected. - Sitush (talk) 06:44, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
