Orphaned non-free image (Image:WildMakuhita.PNG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:WildMakuhita.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:02, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can tell why it got orphaned, because of Makuhita's article got merged into List of Pokémon (281-300). and the picture is no longer needed. So, it can go be deleted. (I do recognize this is a bot, but I'm just saying what I think nontheless) --RandomOrca2 19:50, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:POKE is doing some housecleaning[edit]

This notice is to inform you that because many people have added their names to Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon#Participants but do not seem to be active, all names are being deleted in an effort to find out who is still truly interested in the project. All you have to do is re-add your name if you'd still like to be considered a member of WP:POKE. Any questions, you can contact me on my talk page. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 17:45, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pokemon merging[edit]

When merging them, you should add {{r from merge}} under the redirect, and you should remove any project templates from the talk page. Otherwise, thanks for helping. TTN 19:06, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA for Canadian Paul[edit]

Four years ago this day, a foreigner was voted by the community to serve a land that he loved. Today, a new foreigner humbly accepts the charge and support of serving a community that he loves. Hopefully, he won't disappoint.

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a vote of (47/0/1). The trust bestowed upon me by the community is one of the most touching honours that I have ever received, and I vow not to let you down. Whether you have suggestions for ways in which I could improve, a request for assistance or just need someone to listen, my talk page and my email are always open. I pledge to do what I can to help this project, in the words of a man who needs no introduction, "make the internet not suck." A special thank you goes out to Tim Vickers for nominating me. Cheers, CP 22:48, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, saw that you added a note about references to the "to do" list. A good idea, since it's one of the important aspects of a featured list, but what do you feel the best way to implement it is? Should we reference each name with a news article/biography that notes that they turned 100? Cheers, CP 01:27, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think adding a reference after their name would work. I think the best sources to use would be centenary articles and obituaries, although I think biographies could work as well. --RandomOrca2 02:44, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ken Nelson[edit]

Hi, sorry about the mix-up with the Ken Nelson article. I was mainly interested in updating the info box, but also happened to overwrite the article update that you had recently completed. Thanks for restoring the balance. Regards, WWGB (talk) 03:21, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody[edit]

Thanks for helping to clean up this badly vandalized article - however it may be worth looking more carefully for an appropriate rollback point as there was still a lot of nasty stuff in after your cleaning. Do you use any tools? I am currently using Twinkle which helps. Matt Beard (talk) 23:01, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just saw it in Recent Changes, and there was bolded text with no explanation and I generally revert those if I see them, even though I don't care for shows like this, an article is an article and I'll fix it up a bit more. And I don't use any tools. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 23:04, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Billy Elliott[edit]

I would like to point out that Billy Elliott, a "recent death", was not a BRITISH footballer, but an English one. Espescially at there is no BRITISH football team, but an English, a Scottish, Irish and Welsh football teams!!!

In regards to....the centenarians list[edit]

Just wanted to say thanks for the notification on the new guideline, as I was unaware of it. Seeing that I haven't posted on here for a few weeks, I was initially taken aback as to why my additions were removed, but in any case I will try to add references to any new listworthy person (once I figure out how!) Also, I have indeed been compiling a list of 1908 centenaries, some of which are listed on the 1908 wiki page under births. Here are some of them, so a person besides myself can add them when they reach the milestone.

Olin Stephens (April 13, 1908- ): noted American yacht designer

Marina Semenova (June 12, 1908- ) the first Soviet-trained prima ballerina.

Reginald C. Fuller (September 12, 1908- ) Clergyman, Reverend Canon of Westminster Cathedral in England.

Orlando Cole (August 16, 1908- ), American cellist and educator

Bernard Bierman (August 26, 1908-) American lyricist , was listed in the birth section but hasn't an article

Rica Erickson (August 10, 1908- ) Australian naturalist, botanist and artist.

Mireille Marokvia (December 7, 1908-) French-American author

A whole list of others (some of which you may already be aware of) can be found here http://www.genarians.com/1908.html

In terms of noteriety, Michael DeBakey, Claude Levi-Strauss and Elliott Carter are the big ones this year. Anyway, thanks again for the notification, and is it true that CanadianPaul retired? His efforts on the centenarians page are many, and his contributions will be missed. Cheers, Longevitymonger

Yes, sadly Paul has retired from Wikipedia editing. And I know of the genarians website, but thanks for the list nontheless. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 04:35, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your hard work and kind words are heartily appreciated Cheers, CP 02:22, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm back a bit, in reduced capacity at least. The list of centenarians is one of my more favourite, yet more frustrating projects. Hopefully we work bit by bit and get it fully cited. Cheers, CP 02:22, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for removing without better explanation. As penance, here's another possible name: Jane Bernigau (October 5, 1908-). You should also keep track of the two names I removed, since if citations can be found, they'll make excellent contributions. 71.42.216.100 (talk) 02:06, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The list of participants of the Pokémon WikiProject is quite sizable, however, there is no way to determine which of whom are active contributors to that project. All participants in the list have been moved to Inactive. If you consider yourself to be an active member of the Pokémon WikiProject, please go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon#Participants and move your username to the Active section. Thank you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on Category:Persian centenarians requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
