Philippines women's national volleyball team

Hello Rickt11 thanks for your efforts in editing the Philippines women's national volleyball team article but the Philippine representatives at the 2017 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship is strictly speaking not the national team even though most of their members will form core of the national team which will compete at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. You can edit the PSL All Stars (known as PSL-Rebisco Manila in the 2017 AVC Club Championship) article instead, Thank You.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 14:40, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Layout

Hi Rickt11! Thank you for your enthusiasm with volleyball articles. I have noticed that some IP users and you have been adding flags in both, the infobox and the rest of the layout of Filipino volleyball articles. WP:INFOBOXFLAG is a policy that you should learn about. Please prevent to keep doing this in the near future. I am rolling back the articles now. Remember that there is no Filipino way, all articles about one subject must look the same. WikiProject Volleyball Mission: "Standardize the appearance and layout of volleyball related articles--Osplace 14:59, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

Hello Osplace, I knew about the WP:INFOBOXFLAG and I did add some of the flagicons in the past but later removed it. The "rollback" you made caused some of the the articles not to be updated. I hope you can spend time to re-update the articles again. Thanks Rick (talk) 15:39, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
All articles have been updated. --Osplace 18:55, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Links

To repeat links must be avoided per WP:REPEATLINK. It says: "Generally, a link should appear only once in an article, but if helpful for readers, a link may be repeated in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, hatnotes, and at the first occurrence after the lead." --Osplace 17:03, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

Got it! – Rick (talk) 07:43, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
Osplace, there lots of repeated links in "Alyssa Valdez - Individual awards", I did not do that for sure, why don't you fix it? – Rick (talk) 14:19, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Pink notice

Have you seen the pink notice when you are editing articles about a person? The Notice about sources is about when including information, like Premier Volleyball League 1st Season Collegiate Conference, like you did in the Alyja Daphne Santiago article without including any reference, is completely wrong. --Osplace 21:32, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Yeah right! and when me or somebody includes reference(s) in the awards you will also say it is wrong. Rick (talk) 04:26, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

Isa Molde

The removed content about the Isa Molde article have no inline citations supporting any statement:

  • U17 National team, no
  • UAAP Season 78, no
  • 2016 Shakey's V-League individual award, no
  • Shakey's V-League 12th result, no
  • Shakey's V-League 13th result, no

You should do some reading. Content removed. --Osplace 20:12, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

You should also consider yourself warned about WP:EDITWAR. --Osplace 20:14, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
Again, you should be the one to do some reading, the references were there, all of it is related to another wiki article, you just don't have the time to "click". And warn me about WP:EDITWAR? I'm not a newbie – Rick (talk) 23:47, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
You act like a newbie yourself. It do not work like that, is not clicking the link to look to another article to check if she participated in the U17 or won that award, no! You have to talk about it in the career section, then adding the reference there, then you should include that information in the table. When you just revert without doing anything different or stating any comment, then you are just edit warring. --Osplace 11:23, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
yeah whatever, why not do it yourself to do the research instead of just removing it? you know, contributors do extensive research on those articles and you just remove it. why not leave a message (at least as a courtesy) to the contributor to add ref/cite to their contributions? Rick (talk) 11:34, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
When I work on an article, I do extensive research. WP:BLPSOURCES "This policy extends that principle, adding that contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion." --Osplace 11:56, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Fine, do it by the book (for you) always black & white, and no leniency or at least give some time for the contributor to add the ref. Rick (talk) 12:06, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Rules are meant to guide you. Wheter if you like it or not. Not to your convinience, then should we suspend it or drop it? No, you should not ask any editor to "give you a chance", if a section is removed and you are willing to include it, you should do the research. The article is better now. You should learn how to fill a reference and how to use it. WP:CITEFOOT "...citation markers are normally placed after adjacent punctuation such as periods and commas... Note also that no space is added before the citation marker." There is a sentence fully WP:PEACOCK and WP:EDITORIAL, Even before she hit the UAAP stage, Molde, a Hope Christian High School alumna, has already turned heads with her variety of ways in scoring points for the Lady Maroons that is information is not relevant neither included in the citation given, what is idea behind that sentence? --Osplace 12:16, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
I do not have a single idea about the last line you wrote, why not ask the person who put it? surely I did not write that. And yeah, I've seen what you've done with the article, you should inform the original author. Rick (talk) 12:27, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

Infobox volleyball biography

According to the template Template:Infobox volleyball biography you no longer have to include conversion templates, conversions have been set to automatic. Now you just have to input "X cm" or "X ft Y in", "X kg" or "X lb" and "X cm" or "X in". --Osplace 01:26, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

Alyssa Valdez

I she playing in both leagues at the same time? Really! --Osplace 18:07, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Not at the same time, but if you are watching her games, she played for creamline last week and will be playing for attack line this week. Rick (talk) 21:20, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
Hang on, where did it say that "she's playing in both leagues at the same time"? Like I said, she is playing for both "teams". Rick (talk) 21:24, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
Yes you did. Does she finished playing for Creamline? Yes or not, have she played for Attack line yet? yes or not? Both clubs cannot be to present, thats why. When you said "For the 2017 season of the Premier Volleyball League, Valdez joined the expansion team, the Creamline Cool Smashers." What do you mean? Reinforced, Open or Collegiate? The link does not help a casual reader. "She also got her 4th PVL MVP award and the 1st best outside spiker award." Does she? --Osplace 03:38, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
How can I say she's finished playing for Creamline? Creamline and Ateneo just had an exhibition game in Cebu (Dec 8, 2017 video) and yesterday Attack line had a match (video), if you have a better way of putting her presence in both teams during this December 2017, then go ahead... "For the 2017 season of the Premier Volleyball League, Valdez joined the expansion team, the Creamline Cool Smashers." <- not my words, that could have been done by another editor (probably this?). This is what I only edited. Anyways, I did some changes and added reference. Rick (talk) 06:07, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
Wow, thanks for the videos. You must understand how unusual situation is this. Why a lot about Valdez? Because she is one of the most visited Volleyball articles, casual editors joining us with a bad reference can spread wrongdoings anywhere. Thaks for edits and keep working. --Osplace 14:28, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

Carmela Tunay

This statement that you included here from this source:

  • pursued a Marketing Masters degree also at UST, and with it she took on UAAP season 78 as her last
  • pursued a Marketing Masters degree also at UST, and with it she took on Season 78 as her last

Is blatant WP:COPYVIO violation and had been removed. --Osplace 14:02, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Café Lupe Sunrisers

Hi Rick, just to let you know on my revert to this article, that IP (who hops about a load of 189.xxx IPs) is a long term vandal. His behaviour is easy to spot as he always just adds ridiculous kits. I can cover off most of the vandalism on football articles, but rarely see anything elsewhere as I don't watch other sport team articles. If you see something like this on any other articles, please feel free to revert on sight. If you can add {{IPSock|Grandare Grande}} to the top of the IP talk page and let me know as well I can block the IP temporarily. Thanks, Fenix down (talk) 15:22, 8 March 2018 (UTC).

Hi Fenix down, thanks for the revert. And yes, I'll try to keep an eye on the edits of that IP. Regards – Rick (talk) 15:30, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, the specific IP will change, but generally they start 189 (geolocating to Brazil), but the edits are always very similar so you shouldn't have any problem seeing the issue. Any doubts, let me know. Fenix down (talk) 15:37, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

UAAP Season 80 volleyball tournaments

Hi Rick, just wanted to know why you reverted the semis template in this page. The reason I created the template was to sync both this page and the main UAAP Season 80 page. This would also allow for editing the only template itself, instead of editing both pages individually. Let me know your thoughts on this. Regards - (talk) 09:12, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi Voncabriga, sorry about that but we're trying to avoid excessive templates since such templates will only be used "twice" and not in multiple articles. Both pages, "UAAP Season 80 volleyball tournaments" and "UAAP Season 80" will be synced once you edit the volleyball tournaments page using the LST or transclusion. LST is for sharing information between articles. Please refer to this discussion for further info. Regards – Rick (talk) 10:15, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
