Milonga[edit]

Hi Rob625. I'm researching Argentine tango and was interested in this quote you've added to the 'Milonga (dance)' page:

"the milonga is danced only by the compadritos of the city, who have created it as a mockery of the dances the blacks hold in their own places".

This seems to contradict several other accounts about the origins or Argentine tango and specifically the milonga. Is it a direct quote from the book by Ventura Lynch? 750RoadsterUK (talk) 12:38, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
