A tag has been placed on Olympia Anastasopoulou, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for January 29[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ios (island), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page EET (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The article Flag of Aegina has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Insufficient WP:NOTABILITY; the article simply describes the flag (and incorrectly at that) without any indication that this is a notable subject.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Articles and sources[edit]

Hi there! Good job on starting articles, however a few remarks. Please read through and familiarize yourself with WP:OR, WP:RS and WP:REFERENCE. Use only reliable sources for your articles, not "local inhabitants", or "measured from Google Maps" or websites with the base url but no specific data other than that. Also, I strongly suggest you have a look at some of the better-quality pages in Wikipedia (you can start at WP:FA and WP:GA) to see how a proper article can be written. Remember, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, hence it needs to contain only notable, verifiable information that you would find in any encyclopedia, and should be written in a professional and neutral tone; it is not a tourist guide intended to entice readers to visit a place. Flags etc.[edit]

You seem to put a lot of work into adding emblems and flags for Greek municipalities etc., which is fine. There are, however, some issues concerning your additions.

One of the basic principles of Wikipedia is verifiability, which you can read about here. It means that when you add information to Wikipedia, it is necessary to give other editors the possibility of verifying that the information is correct. It is not enough that you think or even that you know your information is correct. You need to present sources that support the information. When you upload a flag or similar to Commons and present it as "Official flag of ..." or similar, you need to give sources that show not only that the flag exists, but also that it is official. As an example, you have not given any source for the flag of Nafplio. When I go to the web site of the Municipality of Nafplio, I find an emblem at the top of the page, but I can nowhere find the flag. The flag can very well be correct, but as long as there is no source even showing that the flag is in use, far less that it is official, it is not verifiable and should be removed.

Another example: The flag of Mykonos is not sourced. In the web site for Mykonos, there actually is a description of the emblem of the municipality (Σύμβολα του Δήμου) here. The emblem is used throughout the web site, not with the red colour of your file, but mostly in negative on different-coloured backgrounds. There is, however, no mention of a flag. Unless you can give a source for the flag, it is not verifiable and should be removed.

Even when there are sources for seals, emblems or flags, it is important that they are presented correctly. In the case of the flag of Syros-Ermoupoli, you have given a source. The illustration in that source indicates that there exists an official, formal and exact description of this flag. Comparing your uploaded version with the version given in the source, there are some obvious discrepancies, like the placement of the central circle, the size of the text and the choice of font. Even if your version looks somewhat similar, it is not correct and should be removed. The same type of problem has already been mentioned about the flag of Athens, where the colour was conspicuously wrong. Even if the new version you have uploaded looks better, I am still not convinced that it is completely correct.

So please:

  1. Do not upload any more of your own versions of emblems and flags to Commons unless you are completely sure that they are correct, and do not call them official unless you are completely sure they are official. It would be helpful if you would go through your uploaded files in Commons and remove all mentions of "official" unless you can present sources to show they are official. If you do not do it, other people will have to spend time cleaning up.
  2. Do not present any emblem, seal or flag in any article unless the file is properly sourced in Commons. It would be helpful if you would go through the articles you have edited and remove all files you have added that does not have proper sourcing in Commons. If you do not do it, other people will have to spend time cleaning up. --T*U (talk) 10:16, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I removed the "Official" and gave at least one source for all of my files.

Fine, that is a good start. I just noticed that you did not remove the word "Official" from the "Emblem of Patra". The source has an illustration that indicates that an official seal exists. It is similar to yours, but not identical. For one thing, the placement of the text is different. By the way, the new file you uploaded for "Seal of Sparta" has excellent sourcing! --T*U (talk) 19:31, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed that too. Thanks!

Hello, thank you for contacting me. The mistake with the map is on the border. You can see the correct border in the link below. The problem is that in the image

the border is more east than it should.

Hello. I recently saw that you upload the logo of Corfu. Perhaps this logo will change next year as the municipality will split in more than 2 pieces. (Municipalities of South, Central and North Corfu + Diapontia Islands). Can you make also the logo of the region of Ionian Islands? Thank you! A. Katechis Mpourtoulis (talk) 09:50, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The logo of Ionian islands is probably copyrighted and should be uploaded a fair use image. While the "logo"of Corfu is not actually a logo but just a statue outside the Town Hall that I took a picture that is used as an emblem. (TakisA1 (talk) 10:17, 22 July 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Hello again. In the book called IONION AKRON there are 2 pictures showing the Greek flag with Othoni island on it in green color. It seems to be used by Othonians in the last century. There is also a flag which is called "Diapontia Islands flag" and its similar to Corfu flag. How can I send you a copy of these pages in order to upload those 2 flags? Thank you!!! A. Katechis Mpourtoulis (talk) 09:55, 22 July 2018 (UTC) There is a website called imgur where you can upload the pictures without an account and it will generate a link. Upload them there (NOT here since they might be copyrighted) and send me the link. I will designs the flags in vector and upload them. Please provide me information about Ano Panta and Kato Panta.
