License tagging for Image:Frol Kozlov at LBNL.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Frol Kozlov at LBNL.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Missing cats[edit]

I removed a couple of catsd that you have been adding Category:Missing aviators and Category:Missing air passengers to articles about air accidents. As these relate to persons they dont make sense on these articles. Flags in Infoboxes[edit]

Hi. Thank you very much for being so thoughtful. I was away from a computer for the last week or so and I only noticed your post now. The page got about 2,100 hits on the day in question, which is gratifying, even if it doesn't qualify to be recorded anywhere. I created the Albert Jewell page as a by-product of the List of aerial disappearances I created. I will probably be creating a few more pages corresponding with new entries on the list (and perhaps some of the existing ones.) I suppose aviators and aircraft disappearing in mid-flight are well-suited to be DYK topics, so maybe some of the others will feature there again. Thanks. As I already noted (previous section), there were only 2,100 hits, which is quite respectable.

I am not sure that any of the other aerial disappearances for which I have created articles (such as Edouard Jean Bague in 1911, Damer Leslie Allen in 1912, George Henry Fraser in 1919, René Guilbaud in 1928 the Cuatro Vientos in 1933, Émile Barrière in 1936, the 1950 Douglas C-54D-1-DC disappearance or the 1974 Typhoon Bess WC-130 Swan 38 disappearance) would do as well as DYK items. They are all either short articles about individuals or incidents which have probably been expanded as far as they can or stubs corresponding to article other language Wikipedias that need considerable expansion. Perhaps some of those in the latter category might be potential DYKs.

Maybe Light Heart would be more likely to catch Wikipedians' imaginations - with a well-crafted hook; it is an intrinsically dramatic and memorable story. Aldo Pontremoli could also be a candidate, because of the unusual combination of nuclear physics, polar exploration and aviation; Enrico Fermi's name can be dropped in the hook, for example.
