The ultimate goal of the "World of Chemistry" courses is to enhance student scientific literacy and help them better understand environmental issues encountered in the popular and professional press. Chem 180 specifically to provide you with a foundational knowledge of the distribution of chemicals in the environment, their behaviour, and how it influences the world around us. We aim to understand environmental issues through the lens of chemistry. The Wikipedia option of the Science Communication assignment hopes to create or edit wikipedia pages for notable environmental chemists whose do not have a wikipedia page or whose entries are limited. Students will prepare or edit entries to outline their biography, scientific career, research and accomplisments and provide a selective bibliography of their work.
