  Please consult assigning editors

  • It is recommended that, as a courtesy, you first try asking the editors who assigned the templates in order to find out from them if they can be removed. The names of those editors may be found by viewing the article's history page. Since those editor's placed the templates, they are in the best position to know whether or not the issues which caused their placement have been corrected. You may contact them by placing new messages on their user talk pages. In the unlikely event that you do not hear back from them after a reasonable amount of time, please reopen this request by altering the {{request edit}} template's answer parameter to read from |ans=yes to |ans=no. Thank you!

Conflict of interest[edit]

More than one major contributor to this article appears to have a close personal or professional connection to the topic, and thus to have a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request. Requests that are unduly long, or are not supported by independent reliable sources, are unlikely to be accepted.

Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:06, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some proposed changes[edit]

Information to be added or removed:

Please change the current name of the section 'Reception' to 'Awards and reception' adding the following content in the section:

Pedersen has received various awards, including:

  • Eric Hoffer Award, honorable mention for Buffalo Gal, 2009[1]
  • Seven Sisters Book Award for Life in New York, 2015[2][3] In 2015, The New York Times wrote of her novel Life in New York: "the prolific author and playwright parcles her stream of consciousness into her wily and witty essays".[4]
  • Three Oaks Prize for Fiction for Going Away Party, 2001[5] In 2001, the Willamette Week wrote of her novel Going Away Party: "reading this book is like getting hit over the head repeatedly with a blunt object".[6]
  • Barnes & Noble Discover New Voices Selection for Beginner's Luck, 2003[7]
  • Next Generation Indie Book Awards for Humor/Comedy for Buffalo Unbound, 2011[8]
  • Mom's Choice Gold Award for UNPLUGGED: Ella Gets Her Family Back, 2012[9]

Explanation of issue: I am requesting updated information to be added in the section. I have provided reliable references for each award and reception of comments on her books.

   Specification requested

  • Reception is the standard heading title for a section focused on how a subject is received. Items such as awards are bestowed upon individuals and organizations who are favorably received by their respective peer groups.
  • Please provide the specific Wikilinks of the awards mentioned.[a][b] You may place the WikiLinks after the Notes section below.
  • When ready to proceed with the requested information, kindly change the {{request edit}} template's answer parameter to read from |ans=yes to |ans=no. Thank you!

Notes

  1. ^ The two you have already provided are exempted from this request for specification.
  2. ^ This would be the WikiLink for the award itself, rather than a WikiLink for the organization giving the award. For example, a Wikilink for an Oscar would be Academy Award rather than the WikiLink for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization which dispenses the Oscars.
@Spintendo: Apart from the Wikilinks of the two awards already given (Eric Hoffer Award and Next Generation Indie Book Awards), no other award has a Wikilink. Since Eric Hoffer Award is already mentioned on the page, could you please add Next Generation Indie Book Awards to the page. Also, request you to please change the section title to 'Awards' as it best describes the content of the section. Further, please add the below mentioned line after the line of Willamette Week.
In 2015, The New York Times wrote of her novel Life in New York: "the prolific author and playwright parcles her stream of consciousness into her wily and witty essays".[1]
Thank you for your guidance.

  Edit request declined

  1. Since Eric Hoffer Award is already mentioned on the page, could you please add Next Generation Indie Book Awards to the page. Awards cannot share a Wikilink
  2. Further, please add the below mentioned line after the line of Willamette Week. The New York Times claim is not a review, but rather, an announcement that the book was being released.
