- Not a violation of the username policy. Real names are permitted except when they imply that the editor is a specific living person they are not. Current requests for increase in protection level[edit]
Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Kalaripayattu[edit]
Reason: Page was recently given semi-protection for a month due to persistent disruptive edits and vandalism. Page protection was removed not long ago, and there has been large scale disruptive editing by anonymous and newly made accounts. About two months ago, the page was given semi-protection for a month, but since the page has had an increase in disruptive editing from anonymous IPs and new accounts since the protection was removed, I would like to request extended confirmed or at least semi-protection for 6 months. Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism with no chance of subsiding – the subject was a leader of a breakaway sect in Islam considered heretic by mainstream Islam. Hate speech and derogatory comments are added by IP editors every couple of weeks since its 3-year protection period ended in December. Current requests for reduction in protection level[edit]
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Current requests for edits to a protected page[edit]
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

- The talk page Talk:Israel-Hamas War is protected, therefore edit requests by non-extended-confirmed users land here. That is acceptable, and this request made above is reasonable. I have created 80 articles, primarily focused on Sinophone cinema and fantasy literature, with 2 currently undergoing GAN. All of my articles have been promptly reviewed, and none of them have been deleted or marked for maintenance. I am requesting autopatrolled rights to alleviate the workload of the patrollers, especially those who actively review film articles and have reviewed the majority of my articles, allowing them to allocate more time to address articles that truly require attention. As a side note, I am a veteran editor with patroller rights on Chinese Wikipedia, having authored over 200 articles, including a dozen featured and good articles. While I fully understand that there are differences in policies and MOS across different Wikipedias, I believe this demonstrates my credibility and knowledge in assessing article quality.— Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 13:18, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

I frequently create articles on notable subjects, having authored 530 articles, with the majority facing no issues. Hello. I would like to request Autopatrolled rights on the advice of user Broc, who appreciated my editorial skills. I have created more than 140 articles, mostly music-related. (I also have these rights in Russian Wikipedia.) Sanslogique (talk) 14:17, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- I stumbled across Sanslogique's music-related articles more than once as part of NPP, and found them of high quality. They show understanding of WP:NMUSIC, their pages are well written and sourced, and I did not see any copyright problems, that's why I suggested them to apply for autopatrolled rights. I'm applying for autopatrolled rights for a second time, with my first request being denied in April 2023. The reason for that decline was that my previous articles were tagged for "notability". Since then, I have worked on bringing articles over from the Russian Wikipedia and have had relatively few problems when other editors were reviewing them (I don't bring over everything from those respective pages, so I add a tag for expanding from Russian to let others know that information is still there). I feel like I have learned from what I was doing wrong, and in the process, I have made dozens more articles since the decline. Therefore, I respectfully request that I be granted the autopatrolled permission this time around. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Losipov (talk) 17:23, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

I regularly create new articles until I took a break to focus on work and studies. I have now concluded the studies and have retuned to creating new articles. I am requesting this right to help bring down the large number of articles waiting for reviewers attentions as articles I create will no longer join the queue if this is granted. I've been an editor for 7+ years with 20K+ edits on Wikipedia, 78K+ edits on Wikidata, and over 8.5k edits on Wikimedia. In past month, I have tagged many files for move and figured I would rather ask for the filemover priviledges instead of duplicating work for other users. I've never been a disruptive editor. Please consider my request. Thanks.

I have been editing for around 2.5 years now, with specialised focus on field of entertainment. I also often correct typos or do general fixes on articles of various subjects. I have a good knowledge of wikipedia policies and would like to get this pending changes reviewer rights to broaden by experience and get more expertise of Wikipedia. I've done reverting vandalism (Although I was on a hiatus since Golden Week as the vandal level hit 5) for some months now, with my edits growing over 2000 from 89ish including other works, and I request this permission to help with the works. I understand that I did make a misunderstandment couple of weeks ago and I have revised the guidelines to prevent another instance of that happening. (I've been making sure not to miss placing a uw as well). Not planning to request rollbacker until I stop making accidents. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 01:34, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

I have made some very high quality articles (Aston Martin DB9 FA and Aston Martin Rapide at FAC) so I am very familiar with what content is reliable and what is not. I have reverted vandalism (in fact, reverting vandalism was the first edit I made) and whenever i seen vandalism, I take extreme pride in reverting it. Best 750h+ 13:28, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hello User:750h+ . Nice seeing you here! From a quick look at your contributions, it seems like you usually don't leave a warning when reverting vandalism nor an semi-automated edit summary. It's very easy to do with tools like WP:Twinkle. Could you start warning editors? —Femke 🐦 (talk) 12:46, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Have a reasonable amount of experience, often monitor the recent changes for vandalism and problematic edits. I believe having access to this tool will help me improve Wikipedia. AutisticAndrew (talk) 23:48, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

- Not done. Sorry, but you've only been registered for about five days, which doesn't give much of a track record for how you understand important policies such as what vandalism is or is not, or the importance of understanding copyright. I suggest you spend a month or two contributing to Wikipedia and demonstrating how you understand these important policies listed at the criteria page for this PERM before re-applying. I think I have a decent understanding of Wikipedia's policies. I've monitored recent changes and have mostly reverted vandalism whenever I see it, trying my best to always warn them. I think that being a pending changes reviewer will help me continue to positively contribute to Wikipedia. GoldRomean (talk) 18:15, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

I am a German Wikipedian and have been active on enwiki as a vandalism fighter since April, mostly using Twinkle sind SWViewer and always warning editors after reverting their contributions. Currently I have made almost 800 Edits here, which mostly consist of vandalism control. On dewiki I am member of the CVU, have more than 17000 edits as well as rollback rights. [1] I would like to be granted rollback rights as they would allow me fighting vandalism more efficiently and faster. Thanks Ankermast (talk) 08:24, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- I see that you are failing to consistently warn editors when you revert their edits (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Why? Are you aware that we have tools such as Twinkle or Ultraviolet that make this extremely easy? -Fastily 20:48, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- As I am using Twinkle, it becomes clear that the vast majority of my reverts are followed by a warning when looking at my contributions. Regarding your examples: 1. I restored an older version edited by two other users: an anonymous user which I did warn and a user which removed some of the vandalism by the IP, which I would not warn as this edit was constructive. 2. Here, the user removed the contribution by themselves except for a blank which I removed with restoring the latest constructive version. Here, as it seemed like a test edit and as the user removed it, I just removed said blank. 3. Out of hundreds of reverts, there are some cases in which I do not warn the editor. These are natural and I can’t do more than making the promise that like now, I am going to warn every vandal, to the best of my ability.
- Best regards Ankermast (talk) 20:20, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- Please ensure that you are always leaving warnings. I can't stress enough the importance of not biting the newcomers; if you find yourself reverting good faith edits, then it's especially important to notify the editor. If you don't want to leave a template warning, that's completely fine, but you do need to leave a talk page message explaining why you reverted the edit. Moving forward, could you please make a promise to leave warnings/notifications for every revert? -Fastily 21:06, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

For more than a year, I have been reverting vandalism on numerous wikis. I'm rather skilled at identifying vandalism. I have made over 8,000 additions to the English Wikipedia, 700 edits to the Simple English Wikipedia, and around 800,000 edits to Commons. I edit a great deal. I'm always here to keep the wiki safe—in fact, I've been editing every day since December 27. That being said, I require the rollbacker to aid in the quicker and more effective removal of vandalism in our articles. It will also allow me to use AntiVandal, which makes sporting vandalism more simpler. I'll be careful not to rollback good faith edits as that's against the rollback policy. Thanks, Wolverine XI (talk to me) 18:10, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
- Not done I reviewed your contributions and found little to no recent anti-vandalism work. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & Ultraviolet can help with that) before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 08:24, 2 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi! I think there are a couple tasks for which I could make good use of this permission. My primary use case is carefully renaming templates so that their names comply with WP:TPN. (You can see a bunch of move requests I have made at WP:RMT.) I also was recently appointed as a trainee clerk for ArbCom (verify) and the other non-admin clerk was granted the perm because it would be useful for clerking. Hi! I guess I would require this for doing certain edits with respect to certain templates, particularly with respect to Indian territories and transport. I have been making edits to templates within the ambit possible, but there are a couple of protected templates which would need additions (E.g. rint updation). So, it will be useful to have this. Thanks! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 11:48, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
